Prevention of recurrence is central to the McKenzie philosophy.

Once we have identified which Specific Exercises relieve your particular problem (within 1-3 sessions, most commonly on the first session) we ensure you fully resolve the current episode (typically 2-4 weeks depending on the severity and duration of symptoms) before turning our attention to the longer term and prevention of future episodes. We also ensure you recover any lost flexibility, and teach you to do this in a safe and controlled way that promotes strong and flexible healing of scar tissue.

With the McKenzie Approach we give you strategies to manage your posture in sitting, standing and lying (where needed) and give you the tools to “fight back” and teach you how and when to apply the exercises to prevent recurrences.
